STC8678E- 300TDI DEFENDER FULL TURN KEY ENGINE 

This is a 300 TDi Defender full turn key engine which has been reconditioned, working to Land Rover tolerances and specifications.

When we re-condition our engines, they are stripped down to the core block. The core block is cleaned, dipped for corrosion, re-bored, honed, skimmed, and relined when needed. New cam bearings and a new camshaft. The cranks are reground or replaced, with conrods balanced and new gudgeon pins, timing pulley, pistons and rings. The cylinder head is fully reconditioned including valve guides and seats. All units have a reconditioned or new rocker gear with a new rocker shaft, as well as a new oil pump.

All bearings, seals, gaskets and core plugs are always replaced with new Genuine or OE products.

Every unit has been tested and comes with a 12 month parts only warranty.

Our core surcharge of £450, is refundable on inspection of your core. If it is not found to be re-usable, we cannot refund the surcharge.

The 300Tdi engine, produced by Land Rover, is one of the most iconic and durable diesel engines in the brand's history. Introduced in 1994, it succeeded the 200Tdi and was developed to comply with stricter European emissions regulations while maintaining reliability and off-road performance. The 300Tdi is a 2.5-litre 4 cylinder turbo diesel engine however, unlike its predecessor, the 300Tdi was designed with improved refinement and NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) characteristics, making it more suitable for both utility and passenger vehicles. It was used extensively in the Defender, Discovery I, and the Range Rover Classic, and it was known for its mechanical simplicity, which made it a favourite among overlanders and off-road enthusiasts. Production of the 300Tdi continued until around 1998 in the UK for standard models, though it remained in production for export and military use for several more years. Its legacy lives on today through its reputation for robustness and the massive community of enthusiasts who continue to maintain and modify these engines for both everyday use and adventure travel.
